Comics are a funny business. It’s an industry where everyone worked very hard, but few people understood the implications of their work until recently. Consequently its nearly impossible to figure out exactly who drew or created which character, and what adventures they’d actually had.

Oh Jack, I didn’t see you there.

Superpowers, characters, temperament and other factors varied greatly depended on who was writing the character.

Superman went from leaping like a cricket to flying across the solar system in seconds, to a guy that couldn’t seem to be able to dunk a basketball on a regulation court.

Between that and sloppy writing, comic books are riddled with characters that should be able beat anyone, but manage to blow it decade after decade even though that makes no sense. Here’s a few of them in no particular order.

One thing to keep in mind is that each character is in their own separate universe, as most Batman villains would last about a microsecond against Superman.

I would also like to thank  which had forums that did a great job of consolidating some of the info I needed for this column.
